A new building of more than 26.000 square-feet and standing 26 feet high would be built. The developer, NLD 394 LLC, also plans to install new landscaping, an underground storm water management system and an improved parking lot.

The Kia dealership would open late next summer, according to a St. Louis Park staff report. It will be located between a Hyundai dealership and a restaurant still in operation, the Super Moon Buffet. The majority of trees on the site will be removed, with 13 remaining and 25 coming down. However, the plan calls for planting 54 trees, said St. Louis Park Associate Planner Ryan Kelley.

Perennials and shrubs will screen the parking lot from Wayzata Boulevard with a 6-foot high fence and spruce trees along the southwest property line near a mullifamily residential development. A total of 200 bushes will be planted. The developer will also pay a fee to the city to compensate for lost caliper inches of trees, as called for in an ordinance relating to tree replacement.
