July 7, 2014

According to Twin Cities Business,  Carousel Motor Group said it plans to grow to 25 stores and $1 billion in annual revenue in the next five years--which would be up from its current $600 million in annual revenue and roughly double its current  footprint.

Carousel Motor Group owns and operates a dozen auto dealerships, including Audi Minneapolis, Audi St. Paul , BMW of Minnetonka, Chevrolet of Delano, Coon Rapids Chrysler, Inver Grove Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz of Maplewood, North  Branch Chevrolet, Porsche of Minneapolis, Porsche of St. Paul, St. Cloud Hyundai, and Star West Motorsports. The business said the names of all of its dealerships will remain  unchanged.

"We think our new name is distinctive and memorable and will allow us to go and grow anywhere--a definite plus, since our goal is to double the size of our company," President Jay Hulbert said in a statement . "The name Carousel Motor Group not only gives us the flexibility to expand into new geographic areas, but also into new manufacturer brands and even different vehicle categories."

According to Tim Kraemer, the executive in charge of the branding initiative, the name is "a nod to our company's past, the purchase of Carousel Audi and Porsche in 2012, while representing our aspirations for the future."
